Chukkers for Charity is a family friendly charity polo match benefiting Rochelle Center and Saddle Up! We provided landscape material to decorate the event and created a small vignette space for attendees to enjoy.
Who Benefits?
Rochelle Center
Rochelle Center, founded in 1972, is a non-profit agency offering outcome-based day supports for adults with developmental disabilities as they strive to be self-reliant in our community. Meaningful day supports provide continuing personal individualized training in the areas of self-determination, communication, recreation and sensory stimulation in The Developmental Supports Program. The Production Center offers employment opportunities both on and off campus with individual job training and skills as they progress along the continuum to Supported Community Employment and eventual independence.
Saddle Up!
Saddle Up! is Middle Tennessee’s oldest and largest equine assisted program and the only one exclusively serving children and youth with disabilities. Launched in the summer of 1990 with horseback riding lessons one night a week for 10 students, Saddle Up! now operates year-round and offers our foundation program of recreational therapeutic riding, hippotherapy, equine facilitated learning, the Saddle Up! Equestrian Club, and multiple workshops/seminars. Since incorporating in 1991, Saddle Up! has served almost 1,100 children, provided more than 42,000 hours of services, and cared for more than 110 noble horses who served our program. In 2012, we had 4,000+ hours of service to nearly 190 students and clients. We deliver our programs with a dedicated corps of nearly 500 volunteers, 7 full-time and 24-part time staff members, and our “horse staff” of 25 noble equines who make our programs work. Saddle Up! deeply appreciates the support of our donors, event sponsors and event attendees whose generosity helps keep Saddle Up! the place “Where all children are equal in the saddle.”
